Welcome to the Lampard Road Club
The Lampard Road Club is a road cycling club based in the Hatfield and St Albans area of Hertfordshire, but drawing in members from all over the county. The club was formed in 1950 and throughout its history has offered its members a wide range of competitive and social events. At present we have around 40 members and run regular Sunday rides taking in the finest of our Hertfordshire lanes, along with several "Sportive Events" over varying distances organised at regular intervals throughout the year.
The Sunday rides start from The War Memorial in St Albans and take place bi-monthly, one heading out to Hitchin and back for refreshments at Lassiters Tea Shop in Harpenden, the other heading out to Wyevale Garden Centre at Bulbourne before returning via Toms Hill to St Albans. Both rides being about 40 miles.
The Sportive Events take place over 30 miles (Hilly), 50 miles and 100km spread throughout the year.
In addition there is a Wednesday evening training ride commencing from Hatfield Station or the Rookery Café, Welham Green, distance and route depending on the time of year.
Members also participate in time trials and the club organises an annual 10 mile open time trial in May.
We have also recently introduced some off-road rides, which have proved popular with the roadies!
We look forward to meeting you on one of our rides, please feel welcome to contact any of the Club Officials listed for more information
